Zola Jesus is the stagename of American songwriter Niki Roza Danilova. At only 21 years old this classically trained opera singer sets her vocals up against ambient lo-fi background to create a truly unique experience. Her recent EP “Stridulum” garnered a strong 8.1 rating from Pitchfork. Coming onto the scene just recently as 2008 with her first studio releases in the form of singles, Zola Jesus has already built up quite the name in just two years. Zola Jesus will be coming through Des Moines to play 80/35 on Saturday, July 3.
