The Cool Kids

The duo of Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish got started after meeting online in 2005 and after bonding over their mutual love of Eric B. and Rakim and other Golden Era Hip Hop groups, christened their union with the moniker Cool Kids. Describing themselves as “the new black version of the Beastie Boys”, their own collaborations soon started happening with Asher Roth, Drake, Lil Wayne, Ludacris and Maroon 5. Playing the Pitchfork Festival and opening for M.I.A. garnered them more raves–leading Rolling Stone to declare Cool Kids as one of the “Ten Artists to Watch in 2008″. This year they swept away huge audiences at SXSW and Chocolate Industries is soon releasing a full-length follow-up after their hit “Bake Sale” EP. Experience the next big thing in the best way possible: live at 80/35.

Cool Kids beats hard as nails….hope the speakers can handle it… Caught a show the other day, this will be a huge highlight of 80/35…get their new mixtape “Tacklebox” here http://goo.gl/fb/OKgBi

I hope they improve their rhyme skill by the time they arrive to act as a hip hop headliner… pretty lame actually. Beats are only part of the puzzle. Psalm One is one the free stage though, so it works out.
