Solid Gold are a quintet from Minneapolis, Minnesota who take dreamy shoegaze and make it current, much like Air and MGMT. Takes a lot of talent to pull of such a feat without sounding pretentious or just plain boring, but Solid Gold is talented and melodic enough to warrant repeat listens bordering on obsession. The tracks from their latest record, “Bodies of Water”, are creating a huge stir in the music blogosphere and have culled quite an international following. Their hypnotic electronic pop is the perfect modern synth element for 80/35.
