Since Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 in Issaquah Washington by singer-songwriter Issac Brock, the band has added and subtracted a revolving door of members from such illustrious groups like Black Heart Procession, Grandaddy, Murder City Devils and The Smiths, released five albums, eight EP’s and countless singles–amassing over three million records sold and counting. Modest Mouse is hard to define and impossible to confine within a genre: they are pioneers of indie rock gone huge. With the release of “Good News for People Who Love Bad News” the band found commercial success with the singles “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty”, played Saturday Night Live and were nominated for a Grammy. Later, their album “We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank” became a penultimate triumph, earning them their first #1 Billboard spot and spawning the hit singles “Dashboard”, “We’ve Got Everything” and “Missed the Boat”. Their live show is comprised of their early catalog to their later major league “hits”, and is all-encompassing and absolutely captivating.
