Think flying llamas. That is in essence what you will take away from Margot & the Nuclear So and So’s – a whimsical and unpredictable collection of songs. Ambient sounds greet a sweet-sounding melody found on their recently released vinyl. There is no specific way to describe the 8-person indie ensemble. Maybe you could call it folk, maybe rock or maybe artsy pop; regardless it is worth listening to. Hailing from one big house in Indianapolis, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s will be joining 80/35 this summer to bring their funky percussion, distorted electric guitar and a funny looking thing called a melodica. Armed with all sorts of artistic and eclectic indie style, they will sing you a lullaby inspired by a nervous breakdown or jam out with a trumpet, cello and violin in a song about a vampire in a dress.
