The accolades keep pouring in for Jessica Lea Mayfield. She was named one of Spin Magazine’s “Next Big Things” of 2011, is scheduled to play Bonnaroo, performed on “The Late Show” and was recently chosen as Vogue’s “Artist of the Week.” And she’s just 21 years old.
Mayfield grew up in Ohio performing in her family’s bluegrass band, and her style retains some of that twang while adopting some sneer from rock ‘n’ roll and never forgetting to write great lyrics. She’s been produced by and has played with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and last year got to play on “A Prairie Home Companion.”
