Chicago-based quintet Gold Motel began in Los Angeles in 2009 under the leadership of singer Greta Morgan. The band followed Morgan to her hometown and began recording sharp, sunny pop songs with a West Coast feel. Gold Motel’s debut album, Summer House, was released in 2010 with ten tracks offering snapshots of transient youth in constant motion, from driving down the highways to wandering the city in an endless summer, all while searching for the safety of home, friends and love. In addition, Gold Motel’s songs are infused with joyous exuberance as well as sweet, melancholy melodies.
