This summer the Galactic set will feature Corey Glover (of Living Colour), and Corey Henry (Rebirth Brass Band).
If the thrilling rebirth of New Orleans had a sound, it would undoubtedly be that of the five-man funk band Galactic. Combining the more traditional jazz and brass-heavy funk that’s been the city’s signature with cutting edge, “new school” horns and the oh-so-hot regional hip-hop known as New Orleans Bounce, Galactic succeeds in creating a sound that’s entirely new while still honoring the style that made the Big Easy famous.
Since their latest album “YA-KA-MAY” was released last year, the band’s been spreading funk across the country, including a grueling winter tour and stops at all the major festivals planned for this summer.
