Cleo’s Apartment is a well-known and beloved Des Moines institution. Originally a duo of keyboards and a DJ created in 1998, the group gradually added horns, percussion and in 2006, a vocalist. Cleo’s Apartment combines elements of funk, jazz, soul, electronic, hip-hop and rock to create a “kitchen sink” that appeals to youngsters and oldsters alike. The creativity never stops with Cleo’s Apartment and with their constantly evolving sound they offer something for everyone to enjoy. Last year’s showing at 80/35 kept a lot of fans and newcomers standing in the rain just to hear their full set.
