Time to think about your plans for 4th of July weekend. Of course, you’ll be in Western Gateway Park at 80/35, Saturday and Sunday, July 3 & 4. But did you know that the fest features two full days of music this year? And by full we mean noon to night. Seriously. If we could bend time and squeeze 49 hours of music into the two-day fest, we would.

Our guess is that you’d love to play your next gig before a crowd of tens of thousands. Well, lucky you! 80/35 is accepting submissions from bands to play the 2010 fest. Send your submissions to 8035bands@desmoinesmc.com by March 1. Be sure to include a band bio, website, past and upcoming tour dates, and any other information you think may tip the scales in your favor. (We’re already pulling for you!)

Fess up. Since 80/35 launched in 2008, you’ve been thinking about which bands would make your dream line-up. Now is your chance to make your voice heard. Share your band suggestions on our Facebook discussion page. Then, keep your ears open for the first line-up announcement in April.
