I fought the power last night. I fought it way too hard.
In fact, I fought it so hard that I am still kind of fighting it today. Man, that was a lot of beery fun.
Today as I walk the festival grounds I still find myself in a quiet awe about what this little band of music fans have been able to put together. The caliber of acts that are here, in our own backyard, is quite simply bitchin’. I can remember a time when the only live music offerings were that of a more Pontiac Firebird, Chain Smoking, sleeveless t-shirt variety…now the cool kids are ruling the school and it makes this DJ smile like a fat kid in a free cheese shop.
Today I firmly believe that Brother Ali will change my life. Other sets I am eagerly awaiting? Man Man, The Envy Corps, my buddy Josh Davis has some new material that is rumored to be debuted, and the not so softer side of Ben Harper.
All of that and a bag of organic chips.
