For Those About To Rock, I Salute You

Well, here we are perched on the eve of the 2nd annual 80-35 festival. For those of you attended last year’s festival, you already know the great time awaiting you. Just to kick things off for those who will be attending for the first time, the biggest problem you will have is getting yourself acclimated to the festival grounds and remembering to bring your watch so that you can attend all the great concerts lined up, not to mention choosing between the food and drink options.

I’ve always been fan of summer festivals, and 80-35 has one of the best atmospheres around. Whether it’s the dance fans lined up for the DJs, the hackeysack circles, or the tempting smells wafting from the food vendors – it’s all here.

Like last year, many local bands will be playing on the free stages. The styles range from hip-hop, funk, and reggae, to alternative and instrumental rock. Personally, I’m excited to catch Brother Ali (rapper from Minneapolis), and local stalwarts Cleo’s apartment (hip-hop), and The Autumn Project (Instrumental/Experimental rock).

The music will be pumping; the weather great, the food tasty, the beverages refreshing, and you get to hang out with the best people in the Midwest. Hope to see you there!
