Well my ears are still ringing from the Poison Control Center show last night at the Mews, no joke, I’m sitting hear listening to a high pitch squeal. The show last night was fantastic, I couldn’t think of a better way to start the best weekend of the year in Des Moines, unfortunately I had to miss Toots w/ Public Property to do so. At least Public Property is playing 80/35 again this year, they’re always fun to dance to.
I’m beginning to wonder if this ringing will stay constant through Saturday, I guess I’ll have to get used to it as there are so many bands that I want to be right up front for! I’m leaving for the Festival promptly at 3:30, so I’ll be a little early for Tilly and the Wall. I have a list of stuff to through in my bag before I leave; if your just getting ready to take off, don’t forget these items…
1. Water! Bring a bottle of water you can refill, very important
2. Camera – I still have a Lips picture from last year as my desktop, probably time to update
3. Schedule of who’s playing where, highlighted w/ the bands I most want to see
4. A marker and my Pavement album, in case I get lucky and run into Stephen Malkmus (last year I met Patterson Hood of the DBT walking around the free stages)
5. Extra money – I don’t have much, but you never know what cool stuff you’ll find at a Festival
6. A light sheet is always easy to carry, and nice to put on the ground when your tired and feel like chilling to G. Love or something

Am excited to see The Dig Angees perform today [5:15pm, West free stage]. They rock! Play your heart out guys!
