Festival layout and the YPC Do More Village

So, 80-35 is officially underway. I wanted to point out a couple of things. Things are a little different from a layout perspective this year. As you may know, much of the grounds that were used last year is now under construction, so the DMMC has brilliantly utilized the nearby streets for the free stages, and public library/Pappajohn center lawns for the main stage. Both the free stages are just west of 13th street on the South side of Locust with one building separating them.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that great Young Professionals Connection’s Do More Village. There are some fantastic information booths off Locust. The ACLU guys are pretty cool. They’re handing out tip sheets on what to do if  you get stopped by the police. 515 Alive, the local electronica music festival has some people spinning on their behalf, and of course the food vendors are out of this world. I had my eye on an organic booth, as well as a Hawaiin BBQ booth. Speaking of food, I think I’ll take my leave now…
