to be honest it starts in about 5 hours! But Im shivering with anticipation! Oh this is Patrick Tape Fleming from the Poison Control Center, and the lovely folks at 80/35 have been so nice to let me share my thoughts with you about this years fest! Last year 80/35 will go down in the books and probably one of the single greatest weekends in IOWA rock n roll history! The Flaming Lips, the Roots, Frank Black, etc. all brought the goods! and the spectators were just fantastic! NO CRIMES, NO BLOOD, just pure rock n roll fun for everyone! the only thing that didn’t stay together last year were my pants! I got a huge tear in them and to this day are at the bottom of my closet waiting to be fixed! But I also kinda want to keep them the way they are so I will have my first year 80/35 jeans! Kinda my little prize from the event! Im so excited to be playing again this year, and last night we kicked off the weekend with a FREE PRE 80/35 show at the Vaudeville and I had a DREAM COME TRUE MOMENT, we played a PAVEMENT song with a MEMBER of the Band! Thats Right BOB NASTANOVICH rocked the song “TWO STATES” with us and it was just mind blowing for me! AND in just hours I’m going to get to see his brother in crime all those years STEPHEN MALKMUS up on the main stage of 80/35! NOT BAD FOR a independence day weekend start! SEE YA SOON WATCHING TILLY AND THE WALL!
