80/35 Day One: Crowds Embrace the Rain, Festivities Continue Tomorrow

With the festival only a third over, the second annual 80/35 music festival launched today with music fans embracing the rain in downtown Des Moines’ Western Gateway Park. Attendance figures for day one are 9,500 people (4,500 in the paid area and 5,000 in the free).

The first day of 80/35 was filled with many lasting memories: Matisyahu’s stage dive, tap dancing with Tilly & The Wall, rocking to House of Large Sizes, and much more. The festivities continue tomorrow with 27 bands, fireworks, kids zone, meet ‘n greets, DIY Craft Fair, and the list goes on. Buy tickets for Saturday at the door for $50.

Check out Friday’s photos, live blogs, and tweets.
